Sameera Qureshi
MS OTR
Sameera Qureshi is an Occupational Therapist, Islamic Psychology practitioner, and author of Soulful Sexual Health for Muslims (Routledge, 2025), the first book of its kind. For eighteen years, she has supported Muslims navigating what feels stuck, whether emotionally, relationally, sexually, or spiritually, in clinical settings, community spaces, and through her global private practice. She developed the Witnessing the Soul framework, which traces present-day struggles to their deeper roots by attending to the body, the nervous system, and the spiritual self together. Her approach is practical, holistic, and grounded in the belief that healing is a return to what was always there, not a process of becoming someone new.

Through the Body, Back to the Soul: Compassionate Witnessing in Sex Therapy
Sexual struggles are often treated as the problem itself, when they are really symptoms of something the body is holding. This experiential session invites you to shift your focus to the body's response in the moment, and to see the body as an entryway to the soul. Through brief clinical vignettes, participants will see how the body responds in session and what that response may be protecting. You will practice a compassionate, curious witnessing stance, first with your own body and then with prompts you can use in session, to help clients notice and stay with what is happening, and to reconnect with the soul beneath the struggle. Come ready to participate.
